Product Description

Casio PX160BK 88-Key Touch Sensitive Privia Digital Piano with Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action in Black with Stand and PedalThe black PX-160 Privia 88-Key Digital Piano with Matching CS-67 Keyboard Stand from Casio features the new AiR sound source, which provides multi-dimensional sound production, and a natural reproduction of a grand piano's playing and sound properties. The Tri-sensor scaled hammer action includes real hammers that have a scaled weight, which when combined with the Damper Resonance simulator, give the user a closer feel to an acoustic piano. The 88-note keyboard is made from simulated ebony and ivory textured keys, and features three sensors per key to capture the dynamics of a performance, while the variable hammer mimics the timing that occurs naturally inside of an acoustic grand, relative to the attack velocity.The PX-160 offers 128-note polyphony and includes 18 built-in instrument tones including pianos, electric pianos, strings, organs, a vibraphone, and a bass. The keyboard offers a duet mode, which splits the keyboard into two equal ranges so a student and teacher may play together.

The piano's sound is clear, in fact, the keys have less "keyboard sound" than my previous Casio piano which was given to my ex-GF! The only thing I dont like about it is the step: horrible feeling and sound weird. Recommend!

I love my piano. The sound is perfect. I was surprised because the keys sound like a real piano, from where you strike them. I mean, if you strike a key on the left, the stronger sound will come from the left speaker (external or headphone) and so on. Like a real piano. The hammer action is really good. They say it is a 3 stage, and it might be, but subtle, so you don't be surprised when you change stage. It does resemble real piano keys. May not be 100% exactly the same, but in a way that might be positive. Too heavy keys could be an obstacle for learning. And IF they are lighter then a real one, they would be just not enough to be a deal breaker, in my opinion. REAL different from the semi-weighed. You can use the piano as a controller, which you cannot with Yamaha. The stand is neat. The touch of the keys are excellent. The seller was top notch. Impeccable packing and shipping. I have only good things to say about it.

Pros:

* The action is decently-weighted (slightly better than Yamaha's GHS, which is definitely too light for me)
* Good number of ports and options for connectivity
* Light, only ~25 lb
* Good value

Cons:

* The action is SUPER THUMPY. If I play with any kind of velocity, it's all I hear. It's a huge issue and I'm considering putting foam underneath the piano to lessen the noise
* The internal sounds are lame and uninspiring, but I just use this board to control Pianoteq. The internal sounds are usable, I'm glad they exist, but I don't think either of the two pianos (Concert and Modern) are too good. Older Yamaha boards in this price range (even the ancient P85) sound better IMO
